Easy Coffee Liquor

Easy Coffee Liquor

As the holiday season approaches, it’s time to add a touch of indulgence to your celebrations. Today, we’re going beyond the usual festive fare with a homemade treat that's sure to be the toast of any holiday gathering – our very own MNS Coffee Liquor. Whether you’re a fan of classic cocktails or looking for a sophisticated twist to your holiday drinks, this recipe is a must-try.

Our MNS Coffee Liquor is not just any ordinary holiday drink. It's a decadent blend that can be tailored to your taste. While our recipe uses vodka for a crisp, clean flavor, you can easily substitute it with a rum spirit to create a taste closer to the classic Kahlua.

Here's a quick reminder of the ingredients and steps:

  • Vanilla Extract, Maddie’s Natural Sweetener, Ground Coffee, and your choice of Vodka or Rum.
  • The process involves infusing the coffee and vanilla flavors into the spirit, followed by a sweet touch from Maddie’s Natural Sweetener. After 48-72 hours of infusing and a thorough straining process, your Coffee Liquor will be ready to delight.

Why It’s a Must for Your Holiday Bar:

  • Customizable Flavor: Choose between vodka for a martini-like crispness or rum for a Kahlua-like richness.
  • Batch Friendly: This recipe is perfect for making large batches, ensuring you have enough to last through all your holiday festivities.
  • Versatile Use: Sip it neat, add it to your coffee for a festive twist, or mix it into cocktails for an adult holiday version of a vodka Red Bull.

MNS Coffee Liquor

Servings: Approx. 5

Time: 5 min + 48 hours

Ingredients:

  • 1 Tablespoon Vanilla Extract
  • 4 Packets of Maddie’s Natural Sweetener
  • ⅓ Cup Ground Coffee (medium to coarse grind works best)
  • ⅔ C Vodka (preferably a high-quality brand for smoother flavor)

Directions:

  1. Prepare Your Jar: Select a clean, dry glass jar with a tight-fitting lid. The size should be sufficient to hold the coffee, vodka, and allow some space for shaking.
  2. Add Coffee Grounds: Carefully measure and add ⅓ cup of ground coffee to the jar. The grind size of the coffee should be medium to coarse, similar to what you would use for a French press, as finer grinds may over-extract and impart bitterness.
  3. Incorporate Sweetener and Vanilla: Open 4 packets of Maddie’s Natural Sweetener and pour them over the coffee grounds. Follow this by adding 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract. The vanilla adds a smooth, aromatic quality to the liquor.
  4. Pour in the Vodka: Slowly add ⅔ cup of vodka to the jar. It's important to use good quality vodka since it forms the base of your liquor. The vodka will extract the flavors and aromas from the coffee and vanilla.
  5. Shake to Combine: Once all the ingredients are in the jar, seal it tightly. Shake the jar vigorously for about a minute to ensure that the coffee, sweetener, and vanilla are well combined with the vodka.
  6. Let It Infuse: Store the jar in a cool, dark place for about 48 to 72 hours. This is the infusion period where the vodka will gradually take on the rich flavors of the coffee and vanilla. Shake the jar a couple of times a day to help the infusion process.
Strain the Mixture: After the infusion period, strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer or a cheesecloth to remove all the coffee grounds. For a clearer liquor, you can strain it multiple times or use a coffee filter.

Storage
: Transfer the strained coffee liquor into a clean airtight container or bottle. Label it with the date so you can keep track. Store the liquor in the refrigerator. This helps preserve the flavors and extend its shelf life.

Serving Suggestions: MNS Coffee Liquor can be enjoyed on its own, over ice, or used in various cocktail recipes. It pairs wonderfully with desserts and especially an MNS Espresso Martini!
