Refreshing Cantaloupe Sorbet: Your Perfect Summer Treat

Summer is the perfect time to indulge in light, refreshing treats, and what could be better than a homemade sorbet bursting with the natural sweetness of ripe cantaloupe? This simple, healthy cantaloupe sorbet is made with just a few ingredients, including Maddie's Natural Sweetener, to create a guilt-free dessert that you can enjoy any time.

Ingredients:

  • 1 ripe cantaloupe
  • Juice of 1 orange
  • 2 packets of Maddie's Natural Sweetener
  • Splash of dairy-free milk of your choice

Items Needed:

  • large blender or food processor
  • cutting board
  • knife
  • spoon
  • ice cube tray or mold

Directions:

  1. Prepare the Cantaloupe: Start by slicing the cantaloupe into pieces. Lay them out on a lined baking sheet and place them in the freezer. Freezing the cantaloupe chunks is essential to achieving that perfect sorbet texture.

  2. Blend the Frozen Cantaloupe: Once the cantaloupe pieces are fully frozen, transfer them to a blender or food processor. Blend on low to break them down.

  3. Add the Liquid Ingredients: Pour in the juice of one orange, a splash of your favorite dairy-free milk, and add two packets of Maddie's Natural Sweetener. Blend again until the mixture is smooth and well combined.

  4. Freeze in Ice Cube Trays: Pour the blended mixture into ice cube trays and freeze once more. This step helps to solidify the sorbet, making it easier to achieve that creamy consistency in the final blend.

  5. Final Blend for Creaminess: After the cantaloupe cubes are frozen, pop them out of the trays and place them back into the blender. Blend one last time to create a smooth, creamy sorbet.

  6. Enjoy Your Treat: Spoon the creamy cantaloupe sorbet into a bowl, and enjoy this delicious summertime treat!
